Graduate Research Assistantship Accepted | Tall Timbers Research Station
I finally landed an GRA!
First the first post on my blog/website I thought I'd talk about my recent acceptance into a GRA, along with taking on a new job down in Tallahassee, Florida.
About mid January 2019, I accepted a graduate research assistantship at Texas Tech University under Dr. Samantha S. Kahl, working with spot-tailed earless lizards (Holbrookia lacerata) starting in May 2019. You can learn more about the Kahl Lab here: (http://kahllab.blogspot.com/) and the project. I'd like to thank my mentor, Dr. Matthew Gray, for everything he has taught me and the experiences he has given me. I believe he was a key part on my development til this point.
Though, before I get started on my research down in Lubbock, Texas, I'll be working at Tall Timbers Research Station & Land Conservancy as their amphibian intern. I'm really grateful that I was offered this position. So far I've been learning a ton of GIS (which is likely going to be useful in the future) and gaining experience in coastal, and upland pine herpetofauna.
There isn't much to talk about right now. Basically, I'm enjoying my time here at Tall Timbers whilst preparing for my next chapter in Lubbock - can't wait to get started and face the challenges ahead.
