TTU Rangeland Research Funded by HLCS!

My proposed research on the TTU Rangeland has been graciously funded by the Horned Lizard Conservation Society!

Earlier last year I observed a Texas horned lizard using artificial cover to, what I believe, regulate body temperature. There are many pieces of artificial cover on this tract of land – I'm investigating if the lizards here are using these cover objects. If I am able to, I'd like to estimate the population here as well using digital mark-recapture. Below is a figure of my current observations and a map showing where artificial cover will be placed on the TTU Rangeland.

Locations of Texas horned lizards observed last summer.

Future locations of artificial cover objects.
